Objectives
-Predict magnetic, thermal, vibration and acoustic of electric motors using calculation software to verify and improve motor design.
-Simulate motor controller thermal dissipation, electronic components temperature (MOSFET), EMC emissions, impact of switching frequency.
-Co-simulation of motors and motor controllers to check the power stage of the motor controllers (handling of the Back-EMF in different scenarios, anticipate EMC tests, check hardware interface between motor and controller)
-Make the product have qualified mechanical strength and heat dissipation performance and select suitable materials and parts to ensure that the product has competitive cost advantage under meet the customer's technology specification.
Main activities
?Realize simulation studies of electric motors (electromagnetism, thermal, vibration and acoustic) and motor controllers (thermal, EMC, max currents/voltages in different test conditions)
?Write complete CAE reports (in English) for each calculation (hypothesis, tools, results, conclusion)
?Material characterization for simulation purposes => improve material knowledge of design office
?Realize correlation studies = comparison between calculation and tests results
?Collaboration with design office to help on motor design.
?Based on designed module to simulate the mechanical strength and heat dissipation performance, feedback the results and data to designing engineer
?Support designer to fix the knowhow issues and output the optimal design.
?Establish a knowledge base, regularly share the root causes and solutions of the gap between theoretical design and actual test
